History
The T-60 entered service in 1941 as a stopgap light tank intended to fill urgent production needs after heavy losses in the opening months of the war. It was armed with a 20mm cannon and was valued for its simplicity and ease of manufacture.
Although lightly armoured and not intended to fight heavier enemy tanks, the T-60 played an important supporting role on the Eastern Front, particularly during the difficult early years of the conflict.
