Takom Plastic Model Kit
PzKpfw I Ausf A & PzKpfw I Ausf B 1+1 Set (1/35)
This 1/35 scale dual kit from Takom includes both the PzKpfw I Ausf A and Ausf B, allowing you to build two early German light tanks from a single box. Representing the first mass-produced armoured vehicles of the German Army, these compact tanks played a key role during the opening stages of World War II.
The set highlights the visual and mechanical differences between the Ausf A and Ausf B variants, particularly in engine layout and hull length. With two complete vehicles included, it’s ideal for early-war displays, training scenes, or comparative builds showing the rapid development of German armour.

History
The Panzer I was originally designed as a training vehicle, but shortages of more capable tanks forced it into frontline service during the early years of WWII. Armed only with machine guns and lightly armoured, it relied on speed and coordination rather than firepower.
The Ausf A was the first production version, followed shortly by the Ausf B, which featured a more powerful engine and a lengthened hull to improve performance and cooling. Both variants saw action in Poland, France, and the early stages of operations in the Soviet Union.
Although quickly outclassed, the Panzer I helped establish armoured warfare tactics and provided invaluable experience for German tank crews. This dual kit captures that formative period, offering modellers a compact but historically important pair of vehicles.
