Trumpeter Plastic Model Kit
Usaaf P-47N Thunderbolt (1/32)
This 1/32 scale P-47N Thunderbolt from Trumpeter represents the final production variant of the legendary Thunderbolt, developed specifically for long range escort duties in the Pacific theatre. Featuring redesigned extended wings and increased fuel capacity, the P-47N was built to accompany B-29 Superfortress bombers on deep strike missions over Japan.
The kit captures the distinctive wide span wings and muscular fuselage of the N model, with large scale moulding that highlights panel lines and structural detail across the airframe. Trumpeter provides a solid foundation for both clean and combat loaded configurations, making it well suited for detailed finishing and weathering.

Entering service in late 1944, the P-47N combined the Thunderbolt’s trademark durability with greatly improved range. Powered by the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine, it retained the aircraft’s ability to absorb battle damage while delivering heavy firepower from its eight .50 calibre machine guns. Although it arrived too late to see widespread use in Europe, the P-47N played a key role in the Pacific, escorting bombers and conducting ground attack missions during the closing stages of WWII.
