Trumpeter Plastic Model Kit
British Royal Air Force Mustang Mk III WWII (1/32)
This 1/32 scale Mustang Mk III from Trumpeter represents the RAF service version of the Merlin powered Mustang that became a vital long range escort fighter during WWII. Operated extensively by the Royal Air Force, the Mustang Mk III combined speed, altitude performance, and range, allowing Allied bombers to be protected deep into occupied Europe.
The kit is moulded across 12 sprues and contains approximately 292 parts, producing a finished model measuring around 267mm in length with a wingspan of 338mm. Trumpeter captures the aircraft’s slim fuselage and laminar flow wings with large scale surface detail, making it well suited to careful painting and subtle weathering. Three rubber tyres are included, along with external stores for operational display.

The Mustang Mk III entered RAF service in 1943 and quickly proved its value as a high altitude escort fighter and ground attack aircraft. Powered by the Packard built Merlin engine, it offered excellent climb and cruise performance while retaining the Mustang’s trademark handling. Armed with four .50 calibre machine guns and capable of carrying external stores, it played a key role in gaining air superiority over Europe during the later stages of WWII.
