History:
The Magach series of tanks were Israel’s extensive upgrades of the American M48 and M60 Patton tanks. The Magach 7C was one of the final iterations, incorporating heavy appliqué armour, new fire-control systems, and improved survivability against modern threats. Serving throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the 7C saw action in the Lebanon conflicts and was a backbone of Israel’s armoured forces before the full transition to the indigenous Merkava line. Its imposing silhouette and battlefield presence made it one of the most recognisable IDF tanks of the late 20th century.
