History:
The Curtiss P-40C Tomahawk was an early variant of the famous P-40 fighter, serving with both the United States Army Air Corps and Allied forces. Entering service in the late 1930s, it played a crucial role in the early years of World War II, particularly in North Africa, China, and the Pacific. Known for its rugged design and ability to withstand harsh conditions, the Tomahawk was heavily used by the RAF and the American Volunteer Group, famously known as the “Flying Tigers.” While outclassed by later Axis aircraft, its reliability and versatility made it a valuable asset during the critical early stages of the conflict.
