History
The Sd.Kfz. 250 series was developed as a light armoured half track platform capable of fulfilling multiple battlefield roles. The Sd.Kfz. 250/3 variant was configured as a command and communications vehicle, equipped with radios and a distinctive frame antenna to support mobile headquarters operations.
The vehicle known as Greif became closely associated with Field Marshal Erwin Rommel during the North African campaign, where mobility and rapid command decisions were critical. Its use cemented the Sd.Kfz. 250/3’s reputation as one of the most recognisable German command vehicles of the Second World War.
