Dragon Models Plastic Model Kit
Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.D Mit 7.5cm PaK 40 (2 In 1) (1/35)
This 1/35 scale kit from Dragon Models offers a versatile 2-in-1 build featuring the Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.D half-track and the 7.5cm PaK 40 anti-tank gun. Designed to provide flexibility, the kit allows modellers to construct either a standard Sd.Kfz.251/1 towing the PaK 40 or an Sd.Kfz.251/22 variant with the gun mounted directly onto the vehicle. As part of the 1/35 vehicle range, it provides a detailed and adaptable subject for diorama projects.
The model includes accurately reproduced interiors for both configuration options, reflecting the differences between the transport and gun-mounted versions. The PaK 40 is represented with an aluminium barrel and a 3D-printed muzzle brake, enhancing realism. The vehicle itself features detailed moulding throughout, including the hull, suspension, and fighting compartment.
Track assembly is simplified with the inclusion of Ez-Track, while a bonus set of early-type individual track links is also provided for those seeking additional detail. Additional components such as metal width indicator poles and multiple tarpaulin options allow for further customisation. These features combine to offer a flexible and highly detailed kit suitable for a range of modelling approaches.

The Sd.Kfz.251 half-track was one of the most widely used armoured vehicles in German service during WWII, valued for its mobility and adaptability. The addition of the 7.5cm PaK 40 anti-tank gun significantly increased its combat capability, particularly in the Sd.Kfz.251/22 configuration, which served as a mobile anti-tank platform in the later stages of the war. The PaK 40 itself was one of the most effective anti-tank guns used by German forces, capable of engaging a wide range of Allied armour. This kit reflects the combination of these two key components, offering a detailed representation of their use in late-war operations.
