Hasegawa Plastic Model Kit
Heinkel He111Z-2 Long Range Bomber (1/72) 2534
This 1/72 scale Heinkel He111Z-2 from Hasegawa recreates one of the most unusual aircraft concepts developed by Germany during the Second World War. The He 111Z was created by joining two Heinkel He 111 fuselages with a central wing section and an additional engine, forming a massive twin fuselage aircraft designed for heavy towing and long range missions.
The Z-2 variant represented a proposed long range bomber development of the design. Although the concept demonstrated impressive carrying capacity and range potential, the project never progressed to full production as Germany’s wartime priorities shifted toward fighter aircraft and defensive operations.

History
The Heinkel He 111Z, also known as the Zwilling, was developed by combining two He 111 bomber fuselages connected by a new centre wing section with a fifth engine. The aircraft was originally designed to tow the massive Messerschmitt Me 321 Gigant glider.
Engineers also considered other variants, including heavy bomber versions such as the proposed Z-2. However, as the war progressed Germany faced increasing pressure on resources and production capacity. As a result, many advanced or experimental aircraft projects were cancelled before reaching operational service.
