History
The Leopard 2 has been the backbone of German armoured forces since the late 1970s and has undergone continuous upgrades to remain one of the most capable main battle tanks in the world. The A7A1 version represents one of the latest developments, incorporating improved protection systems, updated electronics and enhanced battlefield capabilities.
One of the most notable additions is the Trophy active protection system, designed to intercept incoming anti tank threats before they strike the vehicle. These upgrades ensure the Leopard 2 remains highly effective in modern combat environments. Further improvements are already planned as the Leopard 2 platform continues to evolve with future variants such as the Leopard 2A8.
