Trumpeter Plastic Model Kit
British Royal Air Force Hurricane Mk I (1/24)
This 1/24 scale Hurricane Mk I from Trumpeter recreates one of the most important British fighters of WWII. Often overshadowed by the Spitfire, the Hurricane actually accounted for the majority of RAF victories during the Battle of Britain, earning a reputation for toughness, stability, and dependable combat performance.
The kit is moulded across 11 sprues with approximately 260 parts, producing an imposing finished model measuring around 398mm in length with a wingspan of 508mm. At this scale, surface detail and structural features are clearly defined, making it ideal for careful painting, weathering, and display. Trumpeter’s tooling captures the Hurricane’s fabric covered rear fuselage and solid forward structure, giving the aircraft its distinctive mixed construction appearance.

Entering service in the late 1930s, the Hurricane Mk I formed the backbone of Fighter Command during Britain’s darkest hours. Armed with eight .303 machine guns and powered by the Rolls Royce Merlin engine, it proved capable both as an interceptor and later as a ground attack aircraft. Its rugged construction allowed it to absorb damage and return pilots safely, cementing its place as one of the true workhorses of WWII aviation history.
