Copper State Models Plastic Model Kit
Mgebrov-R Armoured Car (1/35)
This 1/35 scale Mgebrov-R Armoured Car from Copper State Models recreates a rare and distinctive Russian armoured vehicle from the First World War period. Featuring angular armour plating and an enclosed fighting compartment, the Mgebrov-R represents an early attempt at mobile battlefield protection during a time when armoured warfare was still in its infancy.
The kit offers finely moulded parts with crisp surface detail, capturing the vehicle’s riveted construction and unusual profile. Designed for modellers who enjoy lesser-known subjects, it provides an excellent opportunity to build something different from the usual WWII armour, while still delivering plenty of visual interest on the bench.

History
The Mgebrov-R armoured car was developed during the First World War as part of Imperial Russia’s efforts to field mobile protected firepower. Designed by Captain Vladimir Mgebrov, the vehicle was built on a commercial truck chassis and enclosed in sharply angled armour intended to deflect incoming fire, an advanced concept for its time.
Produced in very limited numbers, the Mgebrov-R served primarily on the Eastern Front, where armoured cars were used for reconnaissance, infantry support, and rapid reaction roles. Like many early armoured vehicles, it was a compromise between mobility, protection, and available industrial capability, but it demonstrated the growing importance of mechanised warfare.
Although quickly overtaken by more refined designs, the Mgebrov-R remains a fascinating example of early armoured experimentation, bridging the gap between improvised wartime solutions and the more standardised armoured vehicles that would follow in later conflicts.
