History:
The M1278 Joint Light Tactical Vehicle was developed as part of the JLTV program to replace and supplement the ageing Humvee fleet. First entering service in the mid-2010s, it offers significant improvements in protection, mobility, and payload capacity. Powered by a GM Duramax V8 diesel engine and equipped with advanced armour protection, the JLTV balances survivability with off-road agility. It is designed to transport troops, carry mission-critical equipment, and support modular weapon systems, making it a versatile asset in modern conflicts.
