History
The M1296 ICV-Dragoon was developed to address the growing need for increased firepower within Stryker Brigade Combat Teams. Operational experience demonstrated that the original Stryker variants required enhanced lethality to counter armoured threats while maintaining rapid deployment and road mobility.
By integrating a medium-calibre cannon and refining protection and battlefield systems, the Dragoon significantly expanded the Stryker’s combat role. It remains an important element of modern US Army formations, reflecting the continued adaptation of wheeled combat vehicles to evolving operational demands.
